Pick up the rental car and drive the Golden Circle: Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall, and Kerið crater. Overnight at Vatnsholt Guest House.

Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi, Skógafoss, and Reynisfjara black sand beach, then loop the Reykjanes peninsula back to Reykjavík. Overnight back at Hotel Fron.

Final morning in Reykjavík, return the rental car, then transfer to the port to embark on the Viking Vela for the cruise portion of the trip.

Explore the Westfjords — a scenic drive around Ísafjörður and the Ósvör Maritime Museum, continuing to Bolungarvík.

Relaxing day aboard as we sail toward Svalbard.

Second day at sea. Dinner reservation at Manfredi's Italian Restaurant this evening.

Arrive in the world's northernmost town. Alan visits the huskies at Camp Barentz; Joyce takes the panoramic Longyearbyen & Svalbard Museum tour.

Second day in port before departing Longyearbyen in the evening.

Sailing south back toward the Norwegian coast.

Visit a Magerøya Island fishing village, then drive to Nordkapp (North Cape) — the northernmost point in Europe.

The "Gateway to the Arctic." Joyce takes the panoramic Tromsø tour; a walking tour past the Arctic Cathedral and Tromsø Cathedral rounds out the day.

A scenic drive across the Hålogaland Bridge to Polar Park, the world's northernmost wildlife reserve.

Visit the reconstructed Viking longhouse at Borg, then the Lofoten Seafood Center and Haukland Beach.

A restful day at sea. The Chef's Table dinner is booked for this evening.

The UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord — a winding drive up to Eagle's Bend and Flydalsjuvet for sweeping fjord views.

Explore the historic Bryggen wharf and Bergenhus Fortress, and visit the Oleana knitting factory.

Disembark in Bergen and fly home via Frankfurt and Washington Dulles, arriving back in Indianapolis this evening.
